Attract Wall: The Attract Wall features the show's identity. Pictures of the Year International is an annual photojournalism competition, so I wanted to design the show's identity with that in mind. Using geometric shapes to contain the type in the logo, I wanted to invoke the essence of a ribbon (in reference to competition) without making the design feel too literal. Using these overlapping geometric shapes also served the purpose of giving the look of an artificial depth to a relatively flat, all printed, exhibit surface.
Section theme: "World Understanding Award," "Newspaper Photographer of The Year," "Freelance Photographer of The Year," and the "Environmental Vision Award."
Section theme: "Sports." This section also contains an interactive touch screen displaying additional entries in the photojournalism competition.
