“Nationals at 10: Baseball Makes News” spotlights 10 memorable media moments from the Washington Nationals’ first decade in the nation’s capital. The exhibit explores press coverage of the team’s newsworthy events on and off the field, from baseball’s return to Washington in 2005 after 33 years to pitcher Jordan Zimmermann’s 2014 no-hitter. 

Responsibilities include: concept design, exhibit design, graphic design, fabrication drawings, mount making drawings and promotional graphic design.

The Presidents Race is a promotional event that takes place every home game at Nationals park, in the 4th inning and is considered a Nationals tradition. As seen above, special lighting techniques were used to project illustrations of the Racing Presidents within the exhibit. The projections were automated to race each other across the exhibit floor.

The exhibition logo design was inspired by the look of traditional baseball emblems and patches, incorporating many offset paths and strokes that are reminiscent of uniform decor (piping, patchwork, etc.). 
The "10" in the logo, as well as each media moment section number in the exhibit, was created by using player jerseys as inspiration in styling the exhibition. 
 

The space plan for the exhibit was created to visually understand the chronological flow of content in the exhibit. The space is approached from the South (seen in the above layout), then the content can be followed in the order of the walls labeled A, B, C, D, E and wall F. This content flow was chosen as a subtle reference to the path one would take when running around a baseball diamond, tying the organization to the theme of the exhibit. The artifact from Media Moment 10 ( The home plate used during Jordan Zimmermann's no hitter), is also positioned relative to the exhibit's diamond shape.
